Allowing Programs Through the Firewall

We deploy the real environment, you take the scenario-based labs on us. Hands-on, from anywhere, at any time.

Time required: 1 Hours

In this lab, you will allow your http server to be accessible by other systems by adding a rule to your firewall.

Using the provisioned firewall service on your Red Hat Enterprise server, you will be allowing an HTTP web server to be access from external systems by applying one or more rules to the appropriate security zone(s). You must connect to this instance using a VNC client. Connect to the public SSH IP address on port 5901. The password is "vncpass".

One of the servers in your environment needs to allow HTTP access to the web server.

You will need to be sure Apache is installed, enabled and running. Make sure that the firewalld service is installed and running.

Add a rule that will allow HTTP port 80 access from any TCP endpoint to that server. Verify remotely.
