Security Analyst – Entry Level
July 16th, 2019
In this entry level learning path, you’ll develop your skills as a security analyst. You’ll start from the ground up and learn how to be productive in a Linux environment, how to troubleshoot issues on a network, and how to script basic administrative tasks. Once you’ve got those fundamental skills, you’ll learn all the core security concepts needed to get a job as an entry level security analyst. As a security analyst, you’ll implement security counter-measures across the IT systems within your organization. You’ll be responsible for maintaining security of existing systems, providing guidance on the implementation of new systems, and investigating security events and communicating them to the relevant system owners when needed. Your job responsibilities may include monitoring and analyzing security events from a number of sources, including firewalls, applications, and system logs. You will prevent security exploits by minimizing risk, and in the event you detect and intrusion or breach, you will work with your team to correct the problem and assess the impact to the organization. This is an entry level position, so no prior experience is required.
