Elasticsearch's high availability and redundancy make it a stable and reliable platform for storing massive amounts of data. However, to protect yourself from human error and natural disaster, you should always back up your Elasticsearch data. Where you store your Elasticsearch data backups is entirely up to you. In this learning activity, we will use the local filesystem to demonstrate how to:

  • Create snapshot repos
  • Back up specific indexes
  • Back up the cluster state
  • Restore data from a snapshot
What are Hands-On Labs?

Hands-On Labs are scenario-based learning environments where learners can practice without consequences. Don't compromise a system or waste money on expensive downloads. Practice real-world skills without the real-world risk, no assembly required.
