Azure backups provide us with flexibility for the backup and restoration of our data. We can easily back up snapshots of our virtual machines in Azure, files and folders, SQL databases, and even Microsoft Exchange servers that reside on-premises. Azure backups are a low-cost way to ensure data reliability. In this learning activity, we will be reviewing the Azure recovery services vaults, and we'll back up a sample virtual machine. We will also restore the virtual machine, along with some sample files and folders. Finally, we will install the Microsoft Azure Backup Agent on the virtual machine, to simulate backing up and restoring on-premises data. Note: Our environment is an Azure subscription that has been upgraded to Azure Backup Stack V2. This allows us to perform these tasks without waiting for longer periods of time while backup data is being transferred to the recovery services vault. Also, Backup stack V2 has been renamed to Azure Backup Instant Restore. For details, see:

What are Hands-On Labs?

Hands-On Labs are scenario-based learning environments where learners can practice without consequences. Don't compromise a system or waste money on expensive downloads. Practice real-world skills without the real-world risk, no assembly required.
