Ohai collects a lot of information through the various plugins that are installed by default, and through additional plugins that are added by community cookbooks or our own cookbooks. This information isn't useful for everyone though, and occasionally it can be beneficial to avoid calculating or saving it to the Chef Server. In this learning activity, you'll customize the information being sent to your Chef Server by disabling Ohai plugins and blacklisting attributes.

Hands-On Labs are scenario-based learning environments where learners can practice without consequences. Don't compromise a system or waste money on expensive downloads. Practice real-world skills without the real-world risk, no assembly required.
