Passed RHCSA :)

Score: 267/300.

I made mistakes, but I already knew once I finished the exam where I made mistakes. I had a 'mind blank' on a couple of questions, when I shouldn't have, because I knew the topics related to those questions inside and out. I only realised the proper solution 10 minutes before the exam was about to end, and had to rush fixes. Exam jitters I guess.

Overall, I thought the exam itself was fair. It was actually fun to configure things on an actual VM rather than answering multiple choice questions.

Thanks Linux Academy for the RHCSA course and the labs! I went through parts of the Linux Academy RHCSA course and then the company I work for paid for me to take the RH200 1-week Rapid Track course. After the RH 200, I went back to the Linux Academy cloud servers and labs to practice the topics I wasn't as familiar with.

The Linux Academy labs were incredibly helpful - having pre-built environments spun up at the click of a button meant I could focus only on the specific topics I needed to.

My overall strategy during the exam was to do the harder bits first. Anything that required major reconfiguration, or required confirmation that it would survive a reboot, I did at the start of the exam. Only after I'd finished most of the hard tasks, did I move on to the easier ones. There were some harder tasks though that I had to leave to the end, because I was temporarily stumped.

Good luck to all those attempting the RHCSA in the future!

Congratulations Andrei! Thanks for sharing with us!

I’d love to endorse/recommend you on LinkedIn if you want. All you have to do is add me as a connection and add Linux Academy as your school. Once you do that, post a picture of your cert about passing in your feed and reference me within the original post. Once I see this, I’ll be able to recommend you for your hard work on your LinkedIn profile.

Thanks,

Anthony
