Salt Stack Certification! Can we take the exam without taking official training courses from SaltStack?

As per  the company certification page:

To become a SaltStack Certified Engineer, a candidate must:

Have demonstrable real-world experience with SaltStack
    Complete Official SaltStack training courses:
    Salt Administration I
    Salt Administration II
    Pass the SSCE exam

wondering if this will change soon

@anthony  Linux academy instructors are doing a splendid job and i can't express enough thanks to the whole team. Learning is really made interesting and effective.

I have one suggestion, which your team might already be working on. For the AWS Certifications Practise exam is there an option to display the section wise percentage of scoring available so that it will help a student to know which area/topic he should focus more . I haven't taken any practise exam lately as i am still preparing myself for the AWS Specialty certifications.

Please share if you have Python Developer courses coming in July.

Hi, will there be an "OpenStack" server available?

I have been using the free servers but I don't see an OpenStack server.

@timo67 Openstack labs are included as part of the openstack course but not part of cloud servers. I wouldn't say they are free, as they are part of your membership :)

Thanks for the clarification. Can you let the cat out of the bag in terms of what the new OpenStack course is going to be?

@mangeshkaslikar  It will be launching with it's respective category launch day. Here are the dates. FYI as the courses complete the q/a process we will be setting them public. These dates are the "latest" at which they will be launched. Lambda is an AWS Category. However, I'd expect to see the course BEFORE the 24 based off of my last update from the team.

    #1 DevOps & Linux – Tues, July 10 @ 10:30AM CDT

    #2 Linux & OpenStack – Thurs, July 12 @ 10:30AM CDT

    #3 AWS – Tues, July 24 @ 10:30AM CDT

    #4 Docker & Google – Thurs, July 26 @ 10:30AM CDT

    #5 DevOps & Azure – Tues, July 31 @ 10:30AM CDT

@hammad94   We are launching a new content discovery service that will make that easier to do. We are also launching a new dashboard page this coming week to show all the new launches.

@anthony I'm just starting the Azure 70-533 Certification Prep training. Should I wait for the new release? If so, do you have an estimate on when the new Azure Prep courses are coming out?

Yes, they will be out no later than July 30th. We have one that will be put live i think this week. As the courses go through q/a and are done we will make them all avaiable. The dates above are the "latest" dates for the launches.

@anthony OK. Will do so. I just wish I've had read this before. The Azure prep courses are actually the reason I've subscribed. :/ But thank you for answering! :)

@itsmearthur  These exams are nothing short of super hard, to be honest. Anybody who says they can get you all the objectives in less than 15 hours, is just lying to you. Other side of that is we have our course authors full time. So they are here to help you while you are going through the course and answer questions. We don't hire contractors, that wont' be here to help if needed. But the fact we have full time course authors now, also means, you will be getting azure content every quarter going forward. Currently, we have 4 of them and are still spinning up. Hiring another 3 this quarter is the goal.

@anthony I'm really glad to hear that. Microsoft Azure it's the cloud platform of choice for the company I work for and I've noticed that many training providers are still behind on content on Microsoft Azure. It makes me happy to know that you guys at Linux Academy are investing and working on bringing more Azure content to the site, and  knowing that is enough for me to be glad to have became a subscriber. Thank you!

     @anthony

With so much content to be released do you think about special offer for 1year plan? If I knew so much would be released I would buy 1 year plan wihout blink of an eye when spring offer was active.

@zl0ty HI, the pricing we have reflects all the content we are building and the hands-on labs. our cost of building content with interactive diagrams, hands-on labs and full time course authors is a bit higher than those places who just use power point videos. I do not think we will be offering any promotions anytime in the near future. We are generally moving away from that since we try to price our content right to make it available for our students year around.

@anthony when will RedHat Architect full support be available? It looks like after you released ansible and virtualisation, 2 more courses are needed, but there is no more Linux in new course release agenda.

@zl0ty    RCHA is supported, not all versions of it but we have enough stuff to cover the core "RCHA" here is the learning path,

https://linuxacademy.com/cp/learningpaths/preview/id/2444  and Terry Cox is working on a short course about it now.

@anthony  When are we planing to launch the AWS Security Specialty course? No one is providing that course on par right now. The ACG course is nothing but an ad hoc intro to AWS Security ie not well planned or certificate specific.
