In April, we launched Linux Academy’s new AWS Certified Developer – Associate Level course! It has a variety of new additions and improvements aimed at preparing you for the Certified Developer exam. Let’s take a look at a few of them.
The Sigma Scripts
AWS Certified Developer – Associate level prep course uses the Sigma Scripts – a visual, nonlinear tool that will help you review concepts and material in preparation for the CDA exam. If you’re familiar with our use of the Orion Papers in Tom Haslett’s AWS Certified Solutions Architect course, you should feel right at home. But if not, here is a teaser of what you can expect:
15 Live AWS Environments
This course includes a variety of different AWS environments created specifically to provide you with some hands-on experience, practicing concepts you will encounter during the CDA exam. Here at Linux Academy, we think that providing you with this hands on experience is one of the best ways to equip you for the exam. We also think that these hands on environments will prepare you effectively to actually work as a developer inside of an AWS environment. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Creating Your Own Serverless Reminder Service on AWS with Step Functions, API Gateway, Lambda and S3 – This is a mini-course in itself! You’ll be working with a variety of AWS services to build a fully-functional web application, from the visualization layer through the storage layer.
- Deploying a Python Flask Application with AWS ECS – If you’re not familiar with Python, don’t worry! This activity provides all the code required to get started and by the end you’ll have deployed your first containerized application using Flask, ECR, and ECS.
- Data Processing and Preparation in AWS with Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3 – This is a great primer to how you could setup S3 event notifications with AWS Lambda and leverage them in order to process, modify, and summarize data stored in S3 before moving it into another database such as DynamoDB.
More Content on More Services
This course has also added lessons on a variety of new concepts that were tested in the AWS Certified Developer Beta exam. This content will likely be in an upcoming version of the exam, and we want to be the first to bring you this content in order to most effectively prepare you. These expansions include coverage of services like:
- API Gateway
- Step Functions
Sections Quizzes, Final Exam, and Flashcards
There are regular section quizzes to help you test your understanding of the material as you watch the lessons. There is also a massive array of Flashcards to help you study the concepts covered in the course. And finally, we’ve put together a plethora of final exam questions designed to test your knowledge of AWS concepts covered in the Certified Developer Exam. This means you can prepare for the CDA exam by taking the Linux Academy exam multiple times, and you’ll get new questions each time. They are all designed to test your knowledge, and get you comfortable taking the CDA.
Excited? Get Started!
Hopefully I’ve convinced any of you who are preparing for the CDA to check out this new course. You can find it here. If you have questions, be sure to post them in the Linux Academy Community so we can answer them right away! Also, if you like the course be sure to give a thumbs up!
