Linux Academy was founded in March of 2012, and after training hundreds of thousands of students, then helping them get certified, we like to think we know a thing or two about training.
You’ll often hear us at conferences or on sales calls, talking with students and telling everyone they need to get certified in cloud, Linux, Kubernetes, and more. A few years back, when we started scaling the company, we had three full-time staff members. We’ve since grown, big time, to over a hundred.
As we were evaluating company perks, we decided to create a culture that reinforced our core beliefs around training and continuous education. One of the best ways to do this is by putting our money where our mouth is. We decided to establish a $1,000 certification bonus, and everyone in the company is eligible. This is great for more than just our staff — it’s also great for our students.
Anybody in the company, from office support staff, to accounting, marketing, training architects, and developers, can get the bonus. If they take any training we offer on Linux Academy, and then take and pass the associated certification, the company will offer the staff member a $1,000 certification bonus.
But we don’t just want to provide a perk to the staff. We want to encourage them to continuously develop and expand their skill sets. We’re convinced that this combination leads to technical innovation within the company, and helps retain staff as well.
What’s even better, all the staff at Linux Academy participates in the Linux Academy community. The more knowledge we have surrounding our own training, the more we are able to help our students understand basic and even exceptionally complex questions within the community.
You can save hundreds of thousands of dollars off of your training budget and offer the same perk to your employees. Even if you choose not to, they can receive perks on the Linux Academy platform for training. Read more to find out how, with our gems for swag and in-person training savings.
